Don's (not so) Weekly Photo

I do not always have a post to write, but I want to share my photos - so I started this weekly photo page.

Just one photo each week. The photo may be new or it may come from my pile of favorites. A different photo will be posted every week. Drop by and check it out.

Weekly has become a bit more erratic, hence the new – more accurate  name.

Bambi - Up Close and Personal

This young deer - probably a yearling - is a mule deer. It gets its name from the large size of its ears. This young deer was looking directly at me from only about 12 feet away. Notice the flies at the deer's eye and on its snout.

This shot was taken this past summer in Missouri along the banks of the Meramec River.

I can imagine how you must have been feeling when you first saw the deer and took the photo. Great 'shot'!!!

Wonderful picture. A park ranger at Yellowstone told us that more people get killed in the park by deer than bears. Looking at those eyes, I guess everyone wants a closer look.

Hah!

My experience of a week at Yellowstone going on photo and nature tours leads me to believe there are no bears there. There are, however, lots of cars.
